Security warning after £25000 theft
POLICE in Ringwood are warning rural businesses to tighten security after thieves made off with a £25,000 haul of machinery.
Three men broke into a container on commercial premises in Cowpitts Lane in Poulner on Monday, November 28, between 9pm and 11.30pm.
Among the heist was a Bosch grinder, Stihl chainsaws, a Belle cement mixer and a Makita disc cutter, plus a JCB breaker, Land Rover wheels and tyres and generators.
Police believe a large vehicle was parked on the lane running through Poulner Common and thieves may have made several trips from Cowpitts Lane to the vehicle.
A Hampshire police spokesman said: “If anyone saw anything suspicious then I would urge them to get in touch with us.
“Also if anyone has been offered any items that could be from this haul they should ring the police.”
On November 29, eight tractor weights worth £320 were stolen from Applecroft in Martin.
The spokesman said: “Many of the items are of South African origin and so the plugs and attachments will differ from the ones from the UK.
