I had a 4 megapixel canon that I loved, but accidentally got it wet and ruined it, so I replaced it with a ten megapixel Nikon, what a joke, the Nikon’s manual was complicated and I never took a picture over 2. 6 megapixel with it, in spite of its ten megapixel rating. Problem was also that the camera would turn itself on in my pocket and the rechargeable battery pack that came with it could only last about fifty picture frames. so I decided to try a Canon again, this time the twelve megapixel camera, again, the camera only takes 3-4 megapixels at the most, but at least I can use rechargeable AA batteries that last for 300 pictures or more, and the on off switch is so well recessed I don’t have to worry about it turning itself on without my knowing it. For my money you have to stick with Canon, simple instructions, maybe not performing like I would like, but way better than a Nikon. . . don’t get Nikons, stick with Canons.
When I first looked at this camera when it came in I noticed the cover over the batteries and SDHC chip looked cheap and was also very hard to open. I had it about 3 weeks when I went to pick it up to use it and I saw where one of the little plastic catches that held it closed was broken off and the cover was opened enough that the batteries would not make contact.
