The Denman brush is a holy grail product for a lot of naturals. Many with a curl pattern claim that, along with a bit of gel, their curls pop like never before. I ran out and got this brush when I read about it.

It did something to my hair, but my curls did not “pop”. It seemed to have different effects on my hair depending on what part I was using it on. It definitly smooshed/smoothed things together on my finer hair in the front, but in the back it seemed to separate all of those coffee stirrer sized coils I have back there into a gazillion little pieces.

So after using it a few times for styling, I gave up on it. I picked it up again one day when I couldn’t find my wide toothed comb for a detangling session.

It works great as a detangler. However, I advise anyone using this to be careful when using this for detanginling. Go slow, brush only in sections, use a lot of conditioner. I love my denman now, but it stays in the shower and far away from the styling products.
