Having owned the pioneer bdp70,which cost 900 pounds,was soooo slow and required 6 software up dates (which were a nightmare to install)before it would play the latest titles,i decided to have a change.this sony player, which has the important componants from sonys bdps5000e,blows it away.wifi picks up local networks -great if your not broadband enabled.this allows you to get software updates in minutes.but it is the picture quality that makes it a winner. i paid 345 for multiregion dvd version.altough i am a fan of pioneer (i own the pdp 5090 plasma tv)i was going to buy the lx52 player (500 quid)until i saw the 760.the PQ was the same as the lx52 but had a quicker loading time and richer colours.you dont need to spend 500+ for a quality blu-ray player.honest AV dealers will tell you that pioneer-denon ect although good players,they dont justify the extra 100s of pounds.sure they have better styling,but for me its PQ and value for money is the most important thing,and the bdps760 will be unbeatable value for money.the downside is that i am often asked,"can i come around and watch....?"because of the viewing experiance-better than the cinema anyday.amazon are selling this player for less than i paid for mine-buy it,its a purchase you wont regret.
